Learn the subtleties of optimal gait mechanics and reap the benefits of whole body strength and stamina while minimizing joint degeneration and back pain.
We all know that walking is good for us. It improves overall flow and cardiovascular health within the body, it improves bone density, and among other things it improves overall well being. Our ancestors spent much more time outside moving naturally but our lifestyle today does not lend itself to these habits. Our goal should be between 3 and 7 miles of walking per day! But not all walking is created equally. In this workshop you will learn how to properly load your body while walking to achieve maximum benefit. We will discuss whole body alignment, muscles that should be working in each phase of gait and common patterns that can work against you. This class is run as a 90-minute workshop when available.
