Yin Yoga is a slow-paced, mindful practice with postures that are held for longer periods of time. Yin Yoga targets the deeper layers of fascia (connective tissue) in the body with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. This helps to regulate energy flow and promotes healing and relaxation. Yin Yoga balances an active (yang) yoga practice (and an active lifestyle in general!) “Yin and yang are relative terms: they describe the two facets of existence.
