This class is not appropriate for beginner Pilates clients. Students in Mat 2 are expected to fully understand the basic principles of Pilates, can correct to conform to these principles when queued, and have a basic understanding of the muscles used. For more challenge, Mat 2 classes take you through a dynamic, full-body workout that focuses on improving flexibility and core strength, with exercises that stretch and tone all muscle groups. During this full body workout on the mat, we use small equipment to both modify and intensify the workout for the abs, glutes, thighs, and back. Programming may vary from session to session to include a variety of props. Not recommended for clients with severe joint or back issues or diagnosed pelvic floor issues without a doctor’s clearance.
