The 7th Annual Northborough Turkey Trot was snowy and amazing! We would like to thank everyone who helped make the race a success this year. We had 240 participants register and 190 who ran or walked on Thanksgiving morning despite the overnight snow fall. Thanks to the huge
turnout, the dynamic volunteer efforts, and generous donations from Wegman’s, Dunkin Donuts, and Table Talk Pies, we raised $5,655 for The Northborough Food Pantry!
NORTHBOROUGH _ The Core Connection, LLC will be raising funds to help fight breast cancer, in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In 2012, the Northborough-based fitness company raised $1,100 for the Susan G. Komen® for the Cure last October. This was achieved through the dedication of the company’s founder Rita Matraia, and her instructors who offered nine classes with the only cost being a donation to benefit breast cancer research. NORTHBOROUGH _ At The Core Connection, LLC empowering young women through a non-competitive, full body fitness program is the premise behind its Strong Body-Strong Mind fitness program. The program was originally designed for teen and pre-teen girls to encourage and promote self-confidence by demonstrating to the girls how strong and capable they are and that any goal they set for themselves is achievable. SHREWSBURY — Empowering young women and opening them up to a more happy, healthy and balanced way of living is the overall premise behind You Go, Girl!, a summer program put on by Shrewsbury Youth & Family Services Inc. I have always been physically active, having been a competitive gymnast at the age of 10. Having body awareness at a young age gave me a base of fitness that I carried through my teen and young adult life.
