Education Creates Confidence
We teach clients what they are doing and why it matters, so movement becomes understandable instead of random.
Family-Owned Since 2007
The Core Connection is not built around machines, mirrors, or intimidation. It is built around education, intelligent movement, family, and long-term strength.
Our Philosophy
Fitness and wellness should be something you feel good about. It should build confidence, not confusion.
At The Core Connection, we teach movement in a way that helps clients understand what they are doing, why they are doing it, and how it should feel. Our goal is not just to make people sweat. Our goal is to help people move with better control, better awareness, better strength, and less fear of injury.
We are a fun-loving, caring, family-owned studio led by the Matraia family. Rita opened The Core Connection in 2007 with a clear belief: people deserve intelligent instruction, respectful coaching, and a community that makes wellness feel sustainable.
Whether a client wants to golf, run, lift, hike, keep up with grandchildren, return from injury, compete in a sport, or simply feel better in daily life, the work begins with the same foundation: movement quality first, strength built correctly, and education that gives the client ownership over their body.
The Matraia Family
The Core Connection has been family-owned since the beginning. Rita opened the studio in 2007, and the Matraia family continues to carry forward the same standard: excellent instruction, real care, and a strong belief that people should be taught instead of simply pushed through workouts.
Our instructors are selected for more than personality. They are knowledgeable, passionate, experienced, and serious about body mechanics. They understand that good coaching requires seeing the person in front of them, giving appropriate options, and creating progress without unnecessary risk.
That is why our clients often describe The Core Connection as both professional and personal. The work is structured. The environment is welcoming. The result is a studio where people can train hard, train smart, and feel known.
What We Believe
We teach clients what they are doing and why it matters, so movement becomes understandable instead of random.
Hard work matters, but not at the expense of joint health, control, alignment, or long-term progress.
People stay committed when they feel respected, welcomed, challenged, and connected to the people around them.
