Lisa D., Instructor

Lisa is a graduate of Hamilton College and received a Master’s Degree from Boston University. She is a former French/Spanish teacher, and a fitness enthusiast who has completed 29 marathons with a personal best of 3:05 run at the Boston Marathon where she finished as the 133rd woman overall. As an active member of the Boston Athletic Association’s running club, she has participated in and won many local road races, including the Hyannis Marathon, Spirit of Shrewsbury 5k, St. Mary’s 5k, and has recently placed in her age group at local triathlons.

Lisa is an AFAA certified personal trainer and has trained clients at Great Harbor Yacht Club, Nantucket, MA. She is the varsity girls cross country coach at Shrewsbury High School. She brings extensive experience in track and field as well, having coached thousands of athletes for over 19 years including 14 years at Algonquin Regional HS where her teams won 10 straight division 1 District Championships, and 2 CMass All Class Championships. She is a 2 time MetroWest Daily News “Coach of the Year” (2003,2010) and was named Mass State Track Coaches’ Association “Coach of the Year” (2010).

When she is not running, training clients, and coaching, Lisa enjoys swimming, cycling, lifting weights, and walking her yellow lab, Sam.

“I am passionate about health and fitness. A health scare a few years ago taught me the importance of proper recovery and avoiding over training. Working out and living a balanced, healthy lifestyle should be fun and not a chore. I hope to share my enthusiasm with my clients and help them with their fitness journey.”
